Jake was the old man around here and undisputed king of the kennel. He was the first lead dog I trained and a spectacular weight puller. He made it to 11yrs old before finally succombing to an invection his old body could not fight off. Still a ripe old age for a big guy. These last years he enjoyed spending his time laying around and watching the pups and young dogs play (and trying to get them to leave him alone!). Jake's top weights pulled are: Carpet AMCA rules- 5100 lbs Carpet IWPA rules- 3875 lbs Snow- 2400 lbs I don't know that I will ever have another dog so willing to work so hard for me. Although I've added some commentary, these pictures speak for themselves... |

Power! |
It took six men to push this sled back to the start line through the sticky slush |
|
Perfect weight pull form |
Jake preferred natural surfaces where he could dig his big old school feet in firmly to best utilize his strength |

Jake's second weight pull ever winning over the prior year's IWPA national champion. I didn't know who he had beat at the time, but I knew I had a winner. |
